In the list of upcoming Skoda vehicles in India, we have detailed three SUVs and three sedans that are expected to launch over the next 12-18 months
Skoda Auto India appears to be planning to introduce up to six new passenger vehicles in the domestic market over the next 12 to 18 months with the major highlight being a compact SUV which will be heavily localised. Here is a list of all the expected models:
1. Skoda Compact SUV:
Embracing the sub-four-meter category, this compact SUV will share the MQB A0 IN platform with its counterparts, the Kushaq and Slavia, ensuring a competitive pricing strategy. Under its hood, expect a 1.0L three-pot turbo petrol engine producing 115 PS maximum power and 175 Nm will be utilised and it will be available with both manual and automatic transmission choices.
March 2025 will mark the debut of the upcoming model which is set to adopt one of five distinctive names: Kwiq, Kariq, Kyroq, Kymaq, or Kylaq. Caught on test multiple times already, this five-seater is gearing up to compete against formidable rivals including the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, recently launched Mahindra XUV3X0, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
2. Skoda Kushaq & Slavia Facelift:
Next year, the arrival of the facelifted Skoda Kushaq and Slavia is hugely anticipated. These refreshed models are projected to incorporate new technologies including Level 2 ADAS technology and a 360-degree camera system among other advancements. Additionally, both the exterior and interior are slated for updates, aiming to prolong the appeal of the current generation of these models.
3. New-Gen Skoda Kodiaq:
While not yet officially confirmed, speculation suggests that the new generation Kodiaq might make its way to our shores within the next 12 months. Built on the updated MQB Evo platform, it will get significant cosmetic revisions and interior changes but the familiar 2.0L turbo petrol engine will stay put in its duties.
4. New Skoda Superb & Octavia:
Although the fourth-generation Superb is still on the horizon, its predecessor returned via the CBU route a few months ago to India. As for the Octavia, its exact launch timeline remains undisclosed, but industry expectations point towards a debut in 2025.
