The Sunnyvale, California-headquartered company will employ up to 250 full-time positions in India GCC across a range of functions, including IT support, enterprise analytics, software quality, human resource management system (HRMS) and post-market surveillance. The centre will also support overall product lifecycle, including product upgrades, quality improvement, and customer service.
Gary S. Guthart, CEO of Intuitive said the GCC will be an important contributor to company’s global operations, and towards creating surgical robotics ecosystem in India.
“This GCC will play an important role in helping us to advance minimally invasive healthcare technology, and the ecosystem of services, support and insight that ensure its successful use and adoption,” Guthart added.
Intuitive’s robotic surgical system da Vinci is seeing high teens growth rates in India as demand for robotic assisted surgeries is rising. The robotic surgeries help patients recover faster given the precision of the cuts, reduce the usage of antibiotics, pain medications and blood infusion: and improve clinical outcomes for patients.
While robotic surgeries are expensive compared to conventional surgeries, still they are gaining confidence of insurance companies and government.Intuitive has sales of approximately $7.12 billion in 2023 with 14% growth compared to 2022.
