Marcus Rashford has reportedly rekindled his relationship with childhood sweetheart Lucia Loi amid his switch to Spanish side Barcelona FC.
Rashford’s former fiancée, Loi, was present alongside the 27-year-old Englishman during the photoshoot ahead of his official announcement as a Barca player.
The duo had reportedly broken their romance a couple of years ago, but with Loi being present at the player’s confirmation as a Blaugrana player, on loan from Manchester United, has sparked rumours of a reignited flame.

Rolling Back The Years
The duo’s relationship dates back over a decade ago when the two met at Ashton on Mersey School. Rashford had proposed to Loi in the year 2022 and he couple were engaged to be married, but the relationship fizzled out as the duo parted ways a year later, but, a source revealed that the duo had remained friends despite the end of the romance then.
“Marcus knows that some of the best moments in his career have occurred when Lucia has been at his side,” a source said.
“They got together when they were very young and have had ups and downs, but a friendship has always remained,” The Sun quoted the source as stating.
“He knows that she is good for him and she is one of the few people in the world he knows has got his best interests at heart. She is very sensible and helps keep him grounded,” the report added.
The English forward switched to Spanish champions Barcelona from Premier League side Manchester United on Wednesday on a loan deal. The clubs agreed on the loan until 30 June 2026.
Rashford’s position at United declined since December 2024, leading to a loan to fellow PL side Aston Villa for the latter half of the previous season. The Englishman scored 4 goals in 17 appearances for the Villans. Excluded from United’s pre-season squad, Rashford was instructed to seek new opportunities.
