Six Indian boxers moved into the finals of their respective events at the Seychelles National Day Boxing Tournament assuring the nation of multiple medals at the event.

Aditya Pratap, Neeraj, Himanshu Sharma, Ashish Mudshaniya, Anmol and Gaurav Chauhan all punched their ticket to the summit clash of their categories.

UP’s Pratap, who has represented India in the Elorda Cup in Kazakhstan and won a silver in the National Combined Finals, impressed with an RSC win in the third round against home favourite Jovanie Bouzin in the 65kg category.

Neeraj, another silver medallist at the National Combined, also secured a referee stops contest (RSC) victory over his opponent in the second round of the 75kg event.

Himanshu Sharma from Haryana, a former Belgrade Boxing champion and bronze medallist at the 6th Elite Nationals, achieved a confident 4-1 win against Mathieu Soupprayen of Mauritius in the 50kg section.

Ashish Mudshaniya from Uttar Pradesh, the reigning National Combined champion, continued his fine form with an easy 4-1 victory over Guillaume Francis of Mauritius in the 55kg category.

Anmol from Haryana, a National Combined silver medallist, earned a composed 4-1 split decision win against Dario Gabriel of Seychelles in the In the 55kg event.

Kartik Dalal showed determination in a closely contested bout but lost 1-4 on points to South Africa’s Blessing Nziyana in the 70kg event.

Gaurav Chauhan from Services, a seasoned heavyweight who won gold at the 37th National Games and bronze at the 2024 Elorda Cup, received a direct entry into the final in the 90+Kg section.
